Before going abroad
- Be careful with offers of working abroad. The attractive advertisement may be a catch, if language and/or professional qualifications are not required while there are “high” or “exceptional” salaries. Hold the advertisement in suspicion, if there is only a mobile phone number or a motto given. Companies operating legally are registered within the Court Services. Information can be requested on these upon their registration number.
- Don’t take any offers for granted just because it is made by a friend or a relative.
- Always contract in relation to all aspects of your future employment. Read the contract through carefully; show it to your lawyer, if needed. Hold the offer in suspicion if your prospective employer urges you to sign the contract without having it read. Never ever sign a contract that is written in a language that you do not understand or not understand well enough.
