Information note published by the National Police Headquarters.

The National Police Headquarters organized an expert meeting with the Crime Prevention Department of the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Police Headquarters on 16 April 2019 in the framework of the Internal Security Fund (ISF) project entitled "Creating local cooperation mechanisms against trafficking in human beings". The topic of the discussion was the situation of trafficking in human beings, including the situation of forced prostitution in the area, as well as reporting on prevention activities conducted by both the national and county crime prevention bodies at issue. Experts participating in the coordination meeting (judges, prosecutors, government office officials, and representatives of churches and civil society) collectively agreed that the most vulnerable target groups should be involved in prevention activities as widely as possible from the youngest possible age, building on the experience that representatives of policy areas and competent authorities involved gained so far. Pre-requisites for effective action are continuous contact and cooperation among authorities and bodies involved, due participation on trainings and specialized events related to the topic, and development of programs and methods that can directly address young people at risk of prostitution.
