20th Sziget Festival

Publicated on: August 6, 2012

Human trafficking is one of the most serious violations of human rights, and fundamental freedom. Human trafficking means that slavery persists in the XXI century Europe and thus it is unacceptable. Every year several hundreds of thousands of people fall victim of this crime. Society does not pay enough attention to the exploitation of vulnerable victims.

The Ministry of Interior Hungary with the lead of the National Anti Human Trafficking Coordinator is working on building partnerships with national and international partners to prevent and fight human trafficking.

Accordingly a one-week prevention and awareness-raising program will take place at the Sziget Fesztivál, which is one of Europe’s largest and most popular cultural events. The visitors of the Festival will be provided with information that enables them with better recognising the phenomenon, and learn about Hungary’s and its partners’ efforts.

See the detailed program attached.
