Bilateral negotiation between Hungary and Switzerland

In order to improve the fight against human trafficking and to develop the bilateral relations between Hungary and Switzerland a full day event was held on 15th of May 2012 in the Ministry of Interior.

Head of the Swiss delegation was Mr Boris Mesaric, Anti-Trafficking Coordinator and Head of the Swiss Coordination Unit against Trafficking in Human Beings and Smuggling of Persons, Head of the Hungarian delegation was the Anti-Trafficking Coordinator Ms Krisztina Berta, Deputy State Secretary for EU and International Affairs. The negotiating parties reviewed the current issues of the fight against human trafficking (actors, legal framework, organizational structure, ongoing tasks etc.).

Cornerstones of the negotiation were police cooperation and development of victim protection. The consultation was conducted in a constructive spirit, it has been agreed to strengthen the relations between Switzerland and Hungary and to develop effective cooperation. It will be achieved through regular and mutual meetings, direct exchange of information between the partners and identification of possible resources.
