Cooperation in the fight against human trafficking

Within the context of the Action Plan on operational cooperation signed between the Hungarian and the Dutch Police for the second half of the year on 9-12 December 2013 a Dutch delegation visited Hungary.

In the framework of the programme experts concerned in the fight against human trafficking took a study visit in Pécs. On 11 December a conference was held in the Riot Police which was opened by Pol. Maj. General János Balogh, and His Excellency Gajus Scheltema, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Deputy State Secretary Dr. Krisztina Berta and Corinne Dettmeijer, Dutch National Rapporteur presented the measures taken against trafficking in human beings. Participants were informed on the international aspects of police cooperation, on the investigations of human trafficking cases, migrant smuggling by air, and experience of joint investigation teams as well as the activities of the International Organization for Migration, Chance for Families 2005 Foundation, Hungarian Baptist Aid.
