On 21 October Baranya, Tolna and Somogy counties participated in the one-day awareness-raising.

In order to prevent eventual infections, the series of awareness-raising trainings organised by the Ministry of the Interior continued on an online platform in October. Lectures covered the sociological and criminological characteristics of human trafficking, the new statutory definition in the Criminal Code amended this year, the special treatment of victims of trafficking, and in the afternoon the participants got an insight into the victim support system as well. In addition to general sensitization, the key value of these sessions that workshops are held where all actors of the criminal procedure are seated (virtually) around the same table.  During these events, they get to know each other’s approaches, ways of thinking and rehearse practical cooperation through case studies, thus cases of human trafficking can move more smoothly from the investigative phase to prosecution and the court phase.

The very first training of this kind in November 2019 was attended by policeman, prosecutors and judges from the heavily affected counties of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg and Heves, while in the previous session held in 9-10 September 2020 Békés, Bács-Kiskun and Csongrád-Csanád counties participated.
