The so-called "Be Safe" media campaign is specifically aimed at protecting refugees from Ukraine.
On 27 July 2022, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Office of the Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings in partnership with Thomson Reuters news agency launched an online campaign reflecting the needs of Ukrainian refugees.
The recent shift in the business model of trafficking towards the online platforms, particularly for recruitment and advertisement of victims for sexual exploitation, underlines the need for online awareness-raising activities. According to the available data, the demand for explicit content and sexual services from Ukrainian women and girls has significantly increased in online searches since the start of the humanitarian crisis,
As a preventive measure, the campaign features information on risks of trafficking and suggests steps to mitigate risks. Furthermore, information channels available to Ukrainian citizens with contact numbers of country-specific hotlines and victim support organizations are widely publicised.
In Hungary, the National Crisis Management and Information Telephone Service is available to Ukrainian refugees free of charge 24 hours a day by calling +36 80 20 55 20.
