Study visit for representatives of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Hungary

The office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Project Co-ordinator in Baku plays a leading role in supporting Azerbaijan in the fight against trafficking in human beings. The Project Coordinator in Baku, in cooperation with its international partners, closely monitors the counter-trafficking actions in the country and implements a large-scale and long-term support project.

For that purpose, members of the Azerbaijan Government and civil society organizations involved in the fight against human trafficking took a study visit on 22 – 26 September 2014 in Hungary to exchange good practices in prevention, prosecution of human trafficking and the protection of victims.

On behalf of the Ministry of Interior Deputy State Secretary Ms Krisztina Berta, National Anti-Trafficking Coordinator received the delegation. In the framework of the study visit the representatives of Azerbaijan met experts of the Center for Organized Crime and Coordination, National Bureau of Investigation, Hungarian Police Headquarters, Office of Public Administration and Justice, International Organization for Migration, Institute of Family and Social Policy and the Hungarian Baptist Aid. In the course of the study visit, the delegation visited a shelter providing accommodation and assistance to victims of trafficking and the István Károlyi Center for Children.
