On 20 October 2015, the European Commission in cooperation with the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the European Union organised a high-level conference to mark the Ninth EU Anti-Trafficking Day.
On the occasion of the 9th EU Anti-Trafficking Day awareness-raising training for the airport personnel was held by the Airline Ambassadors International organization (AAI) on 14-15th October 2015 in the Ministry of Interior of Hungary.
The EU Anti-Trafficking Day was established by the European Commission in 2007 and is marked on 18 October of every year. On this occasion on 14 October a Conference was organised in the Ministry of Interior which highlighted the law enforcement aspects of this issue.
In the topic of the fight against trafficking in human beings, the Ministry of Interior will present itself at the Civil Island of the Sziget Festival between 10-13 August for the fourth time.
Three men were arrested today in northern Hungary in a coordinated action supported by Europol and Eurojust and conducted by the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee (Koninklijke Marechaussee) and Hungarian police. Eight homes in the town of Salgótarján were searched. The men, suspected of the sexual exploitation of women in The Hague, are expected to be brought to the Netherlands soon.
The Council of Europe’s Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA) has published today its first evaluation on Hungary.

The Media and Communications Commissioner published on 31 March 2015 a recommendation for the media reports relating to trafficking in human beings and domestic violence.
The National Crisis Telephone Information Service started its operation on 1 April 2005. The 24/7 confidential telephone service (06-80-20-55-20) can be reached free from any location in Hungary and it provides support for victims of violence, prostitution and trafficking in human beings.
The International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) in cooperation with the British Embassy in Vienna organized on 30-31 March a meeting for the National Anti-Trafficking Coordinators of Central and South Eastern Europe.
